THE STORY

It's been over 50 years...

since a rock opera surfaced about the life of Jesus Christ. A musical masterpiece that captured the hearts of millions. But was his death on the cross where the life of this superstar ends?

After a half century, it’s time to tell the rest of the story.

HE’S ALIVE – the Final 40 Days - is a powerful reenactment of the events surrounding the crucified, then risen Jesus Christ. A two act, full length rock opera of 26 original compositions that captures the emotions of betrayal, joy, fear, hope, outrage, and elation experienced by the men and women touched by this controversial prophet who professed to be the Son of God.

Storyline Synopsis
ACT I

The story opens with the chaos and confusion surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus. His death creates fear, anger, sorrow, anguish, and doubt among his disciples. Their hope of a ‘life ever after’ quickly vanishes. They now fear for their own lives.

On the other side of Judea, Herod Antipas, son of Herod the Great and ruler of Galilee, along with his officers celebrate their victory in persuading Governor Pontius Pilate to convict Jesus to death. Even the angels of hell (Satan, Lucifer, and Beelzebub) bask in the glory of their role in the downfall of Jesus.

One by one, apostles John, Peter, Andrew, Thomas, and Matthew reveal their own feelings of betrayal, abandonment, and grief. Emotions run rampant. Because of his death, everything Jesus had built seemed to be falling apart.

Governor Pontius Pilate and Joseph of Arimathea, a distinguished member of the Judea community, agree on a fitting burial for Jesus. However, conflicting reports of what happened on the third day raise the ire of Pilate. Joseph reports that Jesus has risen from the dead. Pilate demands proof.

ACT II

Now risen, Jesus first shares his excitement with his Father, then appears to Mary Magdalene at the tomb, asking her to deliver the good news to Peter. Jesus next makes a surprise visit to his apostles in Galilee. But they remain confused and overwhelmed.

Mary, the loving mother of Jesus, hears of her son’s resurrection and is overcome with joy. Jesus appears to let her know that he has come back to complete his father’s mission.

Even though Jesus experiences several concerning encounters with his apostles, he begins to reveal himself individually to Thomas, Peter and even Pilate.

Now with only a few days left before he must leave the earth, Jesus reaches out to His father in prayer. He fears that he has not done enough in His final 40 days.

With his Father’s blessing, Jesus presents the disciples with the gift of his Holy Spirit. It was finally then that they began to comprehend the eternal wonders of God and the reason why he sent his son to live with them on earth. Events that forever change their lives. As Jesus ascends to the right hand of His father, the apostles’ hearts, minds, and souls are now ALIVE with the Spirit of the Lord.
